How get there
Mergugno can only be reached from Brissago by car. There is a pay car park at the end of the road. The path immediately starts out steep and the ascent is quite demanding. However, if you walk at a regular pace, it is certainly doable, even while enjoying the view of Lake Maggiore. The Capanna al Legn is always open, but you must reserve a bed. Return is by retracing your steps.
